Prince Kuhio Festival at Ka Makana Ali`i

Enjoy music, hula, and historic displays honoring Prince Kūhiō.

Background: Throughout March and April, Hawaiʻi celebrates the life of Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaole, also known as “Ke Aliʻi Makaʻāinana,” and “The Citizen Prince.” He is revered for his love of the people of Hawaiʻi, for founding the Hawaiian Civic Club movement, and for the passage of the Hawaiian Homestead Act in 1921.

The Prince Kūhiō Festival will feature Hawaiian Civic Clubs, Hawaiian Royal Societies, hālau hula, cultural practitioners, Hawaiian serving institutions, Hawaiian musical groups, Hawaiian schools, and Hawaiian entertainers who will deliver a family-friendly immersive experience in various Hawaiian cultural activities open to the public in Waikīkī, Kapolei, Waialua, Nānākuli, the Bishop Museum, Lahaina, Kawaiahaʻo Church, and Nuʻuanu beginning on March 3rd and continuing through March 30th. All events are free of charge.
