Nā Mele Kahe Wale – IHM 5th Anniversary Celebration

Takes place on April 29, 2017 from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm

Bailey House Museum/Maui Historical Society, Wailuku, HI

Please join us under the lauhala and kukui nut trees and enjoying the music workshops of Maui Historical Society / Hale Hō’ikeʻike at the Bailey House for “Nā Mele Kahe Wale,” the 5th Anniversary Celebration of the Institute of Hawaiian Music, UH Maui College. We will be joined by renowned artists and scholars, present a trio contest of aspiring local artists, entertainment by graduates and current students. Food and drinks available for purchase. Doors open at 10am for workshops, the concert will begin at 5PM.

11:30-1:00pm Talk Story Session with Dr. Noelani Arista, Hawaiian scholar and founder of “365 Days of Aloha”

1:00-1:30pm Nā Mea Ho‘okani Workshop for all ages (kala‘au/‘ili‘ili) with Robin Leihuanani Keali‘inohomoku

1:30-2:30pm Songwriting Workshop with Kenneth Makuakāne
