Celebrate the Songs of C&K with Henry Kapono & Friends at Sam's Town, LV

The story of C&K began “with a harmony’s perfect blending” under a starry night on Oahu’s North Shore in February 1973. After back to back sold out concerts at the Waikiki Shell and record-breaking attendance at the Honolulu Stadium, C&K garnered a multi-album deal with Columbia Records and went on to tour the nation sharing the stage with some of the greatest American artists of the time. The Songs of C&K celebrates the music of Cecilio & Kapono and the living legacy of one of Hawai'i’s most prolific entertainers, Henry Kapono.

Featuring Henry Kapono, Johnny Valentine, Alx Kawakami, and Blayne Asing with Gaylord Holomalia, Bobby Figueroa and Jonathan Hawes.

Henry Kapono is a performer who has it all – vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, composer, thrilling performer, audience favorite—and multiple honors and awards, including a Grammy® nomination. He has taken home numerous Na Hoku Hanohano Awards, Hawai‘i’s Grammy®, including Male Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year, Single of the Year, and Album of the Year.

Johnny Valentine, a Hawai'i Music Award Winner, has spent most of his life entertaining in the heart of Waikiki. From shows to nightclubs, including part of Hawai'i’s beloved “The Love Notes” variety group that first put his nephew, Bruno Mars, on stage, Johnny has become known as Hawai‘i’s most versatile singer. Notes Bruno, "He is one of my inspirations".

Blayne Asing was born and raised on the island of Oahu. The singer/songwriter started playing the ukulele at the age of 8 and guitar by the age of 9. Like Henry Kapono, Blayne is self-taught “by having a good ear for learning and watching YouTube® videos”. In addition to playing a variety of instruments, Blayne is a prolific songwriter with a distinctive voice complimented by his own unique country/folk/island style. Releasing his first album in 2015, at the age of 27, Blayne won “Most Promising Artist” at the 2016 “Hoku” (Hawai"i’s Grammys®) awards!

Alx Kawakami was born on the island of Oahu and has enjoyed a successful career as a singer/songwriter and producer for the past 15 year. With 6 albums and over 40 original compositions under his belt, Alx has worked with and written for many major commercials, TV shows and feature films. After several years performing with his father & brothers in the group, Manoa DNA, a long time Hawai'i and Japan favorite, Alx spread his wings in 2014 and embarked on his solo career.
